Senior QA Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, performance, security, and usability of our web applications and APIs. You should have a strong understanding of modern web technologies and be comfortable going beyond basic functional testing to identify complex application, browser, API, performance, and security issues. This role requires a detail-oriented QA professional who can work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced Agile environment. Key Technologies & Tools Frontend: React.js Next.js Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG) Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) Service Workers and Cache Storage Backend & API Testing: Node.js NestJS REST APIs Postman Swagger / OpenAPI API schema and contract testing Testing & Diagnostics: Chrome / Firefox Developer Tools Network and performance analysis Memory and heap profiling Application storage and cache analysis Browser compatibility testing Security & Compliance: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Data privacy and secure data handling Exposure to HIPAA, SOC 2, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or similar compliance standards will be an advantage Project & Collaboration Tools: Jira / Zoho / Asana Agile / Scrum methodologies Key Responsibilities 1. Functional & End-to-End Testing Plan and execute functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing. Validate application functionality across different browsers, devices, and environments. Identify, document, track, and verify defects through to resolution. Perform exploratory, sanity, smoke, and edge-case testing. 2. Web Application Testing Test applications built using React.js and Next.js. Identify issues related to SSR, SSG, hydration, page rendering, responsiveness, and layout shifts. Perform browser compatibility and cross-device testing. Validate PWA functionality, including service workers, caching, offline behavior, and application storage. 3. API & Backend Testing Perform comprehensive testing of REST APIs using Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI. Validate API responses, status codes, request/response schemas, authentication, authorization, and error handling. Perform negative, boundary, integration, and data-validation testing. Identify API performance and reliability issues. 4. Performance & Browser Diagnostics Use Chrome/Firefox Developer Tools to investigate network requests, payloads, console errors, and application behavior. Analyze network waterfalls and identify performance bottlenecks. Perform basic memory and heap profiling to identify potential memory leaks. Investigate issues such as excessive memory usage, detached DOM elements, caching problems, and inefficient client-side behavior. 5. Security & Compliance Testing Validate authentication, authorization, session management, RBAC, and secure data handling. Ensure sensitive or confidential information is not unnecessarily exposed through browser storage, logs, APIs, or client-side telemetry. Support QA activities related to security and compliance requirements. Exposure to healthcare, financial, or other regulated applications will be an added advantage. 6. Defect Management & Documentation Create clear, detailed, and actionable defect reports with appropriate steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, logs, screenshots, and supporting evidence. Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve defects. Perform defect verification and regression testing after fixes. Maintain test cases, test scenarios, checklists, and QA documentation. 7. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with developers, project managers, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle. Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, coverage, and overall product quality. Contribute to building and maintaining effective QA standards and practices. Requirements 4–5 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance / Testing. Strong hands-on experience in web application testing and API testing. Good understanding of React.js and Next.js applications. Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman and working with Swagger/OpenAPI documentation. Strong knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, smoke, and sanity testing. Good understanding of browser Developer Tools, including Network, Console, Application Storage, and Performance/Memory tools. Ability to investigate complex UI, browser, API, and performance-related issues. Good understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, and basic application security concepts. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. Hands-on experience with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Zoho, or Asana. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with development and project teams. Good to Have Experience with QA automation tools/frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar. Knowledge of API automation and test scripting. Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or similar. Understanding of HIPAA, SOC 2, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, or other compliance standards. Experience testing healthcare, fintech, SaaS, or other security-sensitive applications. Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and testing integration.
